Getting Out and Enjoying Nature

Getting out and hiking was something I didn't care about until I moved to Colorado earlier this year. Suddenly, the influence of living in the Denver area got to me and I said "Well, everyone else here loves hiking. I wonder what all the fuss is about?" Now I know what the fuss is about!


I'm not going to be hiking a 14er anytime soon. For those of you who do not know, a "14er" is a mountain peak 14000 feet or higher. But, I did manage to summit a couple of peaks that were 7200 and 8000 feet. I'm pretty proud of myself for that!


Getting out into nature is an absolutely breathtaking experience. Especially in a place as beautiful as Colorado. Here are some photos from our recent hiking adventures.

A Sad Goodbye

We adopted our dog Jazz from a shelter in late 2008. She was 5 months old and standing on top of a doghouse, challenging the other puppies for her spot as Queen of the Castle. We should have known the
